(especially if one of your 2016 goals is to have more meaning in your career):
If you have a good, original idea for your company: communicate it and sell it.
Spend some of your own personal time on research.
Provide leadership with a brief, non-complicated presentation to introduce
your idea, backing it up with research.
Put your name on that documentation so that you will gain credit.
Personal time is precious and worth protecting, but consider using some of
your own time developing this simple presentation about your idea. It could
elevate your reputation at work and make a difference in your next
performance review and pay increase. If the idea is really worthy, you might
even gain a promotion from it. It's just an idea, but if you put some effort
into it - it could make a real difference in your career.
