Suggested weekend reading (so clever for Friday the 13th!):
Caroline Webb's How to Have a Good Day examines human behavior at work in
an effort to prove what it takes to flourish. It is insightful with examples, relatable
with storytelling, full of useful advice, well researched, and practical (especially
the appendices!). After reading it, you will want to keep this book handy to refer
back to when challenging work situations come up.
The chapters of the book are broken into these main topics:
Priorities: Setting intentional direction for your day
Productivity: Making the hours in the day go further
Relationships: Making the most of every interaction
Thinking: Being your smartest, wisest, most creative self
Influence: Maximizing the impact of all you say and do
Resilience: Sailing through setbacks and annoyances
Energy: Boosting your enthusiasm and enjoyment
And then the appendices -
Making it stick:
How to be good at meetings
How to be good at email
How to reinvigorate your routine
Read it because every good day builds and before you know it
- you are enjoying a really good life.
